For over fifty years, the people of Collingwood and beyond have accessed high quality health care at 365 Hoddle St. And it shows. The care cohealth provides here is amazing, but the buildings are aged and outdated, limiting the services that can be provided.
cohealth has a vision for redeveloping the site to offer new and existing services, combing affordable housing. As well as the current services they provide, including community doctors, mental health care, allied health and a pharmacy, they could offer public dental care, specialist drug and alcohol services. This innovative model would ensure that some of the most disadvantaged people in the community would have the wrap-around health care they need, literally at their doorstep - this is a new kind of supportive housing model. Existing patients would also have expanded services in a purpose-built clinic. cohealth plans to partner with a housing provider to build the housing, and needs $12.5m to build the health service part of the project.
We are committing $12.5m to make this important project happen, so that more local people have the housing and health care they need.
