Put a Cap on Rent

Take Action

Rent in Melbourne is sky-rocketing. Labor and the Liberals seem to be listening more to their property developer mates than renters, but we need to act fast to make sure people can afford to stay in their homes.

Add your name to demand that Daniel Andrews puts a cap on rent before more people are forced to move out.

Why is this important?

It's time for a Melbourne Rent Cap that ensures everyone can afford to keep living in their home. Other cities around the world have done this, now it's time to make Victoria more liveable.

An entire generation has been locked out of the housing market, and many of us will likely be lifelong renters. But for that to be sustainable, we need to keep rent increases under control.

In December 2017, only 0.3% of rentals were affordable to someone on Newstart. It's time to fix this.
